But what kinds of devices do people use to search by voice?
Google Assistant is the app you download and install on your smartphone. It’s the one that answers the call: “Hey, Google?”
Unsurprisingly, Google Assistant uses the Google search index to get answers to your queries. He will provide a verbal response based on the information he receives. In other words, the Google Assistant does the Google search for you. Plus, you can extend the functionality of Google Assistant with Google Actions.
Google Actions lets you manage tasks through a conversational interface. For example, if you want to turn on the lights in your house, you would do so with Google Actions.
However, if you want to use Google Actions
keep the following key points in mind:
- People can give commands using different words or phrases. Make sure you prepare for it.
- People might need help. Include a help section.
- Users love personalization. Accept preferences (like time zone, zip code, etc.) to provide a more personalized experience.
There’s a Google Actions Console for Google Actions, just like there’s a Google Search Console for your website. In the Google Actions console, you can use templates to create Google actions. Think of a Google Action as an app for Google Assistant.
What is Google Home? It’s a standalone device that uses Google Assistant. While Google Assistant itself is an app you download, Google Home comes with Assistant installed.
Google Home is basically a small speaker. Google Home Hub, on the other hand, has a screen. This is useful if you want to know how to julienne a carrot and find it difficult to follow only verbal instructions. Google Home Hub will show you a video so you can see exactly how to do it.
Really important: Google Home Hub is tightly integrated with Google products, so be sure to optimize the use of these entities. With the rise of YouTube searches, it’s important that you’re on the platform to answer questions about your business.
